2019 Results
By all accounts conditions for the 2019 edition of CtC were classically “epic.” Rain in the days leading up to the event left the GAP Trail a peanut buttery mess and more rain all day and into the night Friday, ranging from drizzle to all-out deluge made sure everyone got the full dose of Type-2 in their fun. The reward for enduring the Friday mess came with a substantial tailwind overnight and all day Saturday as a cold front pushed across the state.
Despite the prospect of a tough, wet journey ahead of them a group of about 20 hearty cyclists gathered Friday morning in Point State Park under the interstate overpass and pointed their bicycles east toward Philadelphia. Seemingly immune to all of it, Steve Gergely rode to a very impressive first place finish in a new course record 25 hours 4 minutes. Paul Kilroy came in second, also sub-30 hours at 27h 54m, and Steven Kunsak rounded out the podium in 31h 30m. Full results are listed below:
